BIOGRAPHY OF SPARTICUS

Music alone shall live so here comes another artist to deliver a
positive message across the globe.
Born to Mervin Lewis and Albertha Delesser in the parish of
St. Catherine Jamiaca on the 20th day of July 1966. Garnet
Lewis affectionately called Sparticus grew up with his adoptive
mother Adassa Brown in the community of Central Village.
Living in a community where he was surrounded by political
violence he did not succumbed to his negative living. He
attended the White Marl All Age School in the same
community.
Growing up wasn't easy for Sparticus, because of poverty he
had to take to the streets at a tender age hustling to support
himself. He usually sold liquid soap in the market place namely
Spanish Town and Linstead Market, he even hung out at
Caymanas Park Place Rack Track hoping to be a jockey one
day but wasn't successful.
There was a sound system in the community by the name of
Stereo Tone Hi Fi that always played on the weekend. Having
the love for music he usually hung around and got a chance to
make his say on the microphone. Papa San ws his idol, so he
patterned his fast talking and became one of the communities
favorite DJ's. The artists that usually work out with that sound
system included Luciano, Milton Blake, Culture Man, Katta
Warrior, Gregory Peck, Admiral Tibet, Survivalist, Dizzy
Dust...
After developing his standard in the music field he got a chance
to make his first big appearance on a talent show in 1991 at
Coney Park Ferry, St. Catherine, Jamaica. He was the winner
of that talent show. Having the win under his belt and getting
lots of encouragement from his friends, he took to the streets of
Kingston, hanging out at studios hoping to find a producer that
would expose his talent to the world.
He was introduced to Jack, owner of The Black Scorpio
Sound System in Drews land Kingston by his friend Bumpy.
He then started to share company with the likes of General
Tree, Colour Chin, Barry Back, Lieutenant Stitchie, Lady G
and Wolf Man to name a few. After coming abroad Sparticus
did opening performances for Beenie Man, Elephant Man and
Luciano.
Sparticus now seeing the light at the other end of the tunnel has
formed his own recording label called Rise Ans Shine
Promotions. He produced songs with Luciano, Mikey General,
Milton Blake, Anthony B. and others.
He is now busy in the studio putting the finishing touch on his
up and coming debut album. He released three singles entitled
Good Times Bad Times, Lock, and Mash It Up. Two videos
accompany the Lock and Good Times Bad Times singles.
The world cannot wait to receive Sparticus with open arms as
this chanter is coming hot with bags of Righteous lyrics. Jah
Bless and love always. Peace out.
